Granite Extends 17-Year Run as Top Corporate Philanthropist in Massachusetts
Company Ranked No. 2 for Statewide Charitable Giving, Donating Over $46M to Local Nonprofits in 2024
QUINCY, Massachusetts – September 16, 2025 – Granite Telecommunications, a leading $1.8 billion provider of communications and technology solutions to multilocation businesses and government agencies, today announced it has once again been recognized among Massachusetts’ top corporate philanthropists, earning the No. 2 ranking on the Boston Business Journal’s (BBJ) Top Charitable Contributors list.
For more than a decade, Granite has been a consistent leader on the BBJ’s list, including four years holding the No. 1 honor.
The recognition was announced at the BBJ’s 20th Annual Corporate Citizenship Awards held on September 10, 2025, which celebrated the Bay State’s most generous companies and nonprofit partnerships. With this year’s award, Granite extends its 17-year run as a Top Charitable Contributor, having earned the distinction every year since 2009.
“This honor is a reflection of Granite’s deeply held belief that business success and community impact go hand in hand,” said Rob Hale, President and CEO of Granite. “We’re proud to support the incredible nonprofit organizations doing meaningful work across Massachusetts and beyond, and we’re inspired by our teammates who continually give their time, energy and resources to help others.”
The BBJ’s annual list ranks companies by total charitable contributions in Massachusetts. To be considered, companies must report at least $100,000 in Massachusetts-based charitable giving for the prior calendar year.
In 2024, Granite contributed more than $46 million in cash and in-kind donations to charitable organizations in Massachusetts and more than $51 million nationwide. The company’s contributions focus on causes such as medical research, housing insecurity, education, food access and veteran support. Granite also fosters a culture of volunteerism, with team members participating in hundreds of service hours throughout the year.
Granite’s philanthropic approach centers on building long-term partnerships with nonprofit organizations and leveraging its platform to drive awareness and resources where they’re needed most. One example is Granite’s partnership with Boston Children’s Hospital. Through its annual “Saving by Shaving” fundraiser, Granite has raised more than $37 million to support pediatric cancer research over the past 7 years.
“We don’t just give to give—we invest in outcomes,” said Hale. “Our goal is to create lasting, measurable impact by supporting causes where we can be part of the solution and help communities thrive.”
